The Scrapbooking Friends Club; had an ATC swap!

March ATC Challenge Theme:

The ladies were asked to create an ATC that spoke to their own creative style. Clean lines, distressing, decoupage, designer paper, homemade paper, bling, ribbon, feathers, ink, stickers, stamps. The only requirement is that your name be somewhere on the front of the ATC.

March ATC Challenge

My dear friends of the Scrapbooking Friends Club; instead of a card challenge, we're going to do an ATC challenge!

March ATC Challenge Theme:
~ Me ~

I'm asking that you let the ATC speak for your style. Clean lines, distressing, decoupage, designer paper, homemade paper, bling, ribbon, feathers, ink, stickers, stamps; whatever you want. The only requirement is that your name be somewhere on the front of the ATC.

Step out of the box with me and join in.

Here's what to do:

1. Make one (1) ATC with the following measurements: 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".
2. Put your name somewhere on the front of the ATC.
3. Take a picture of your ATC and post it in the group photo album titled: "March 2010 ATC Challenge" and cc a copy to me by the deadline. The photos will be numbered on the blog in the order in which they are received.
4. After the deadline, I'll randomly (using www.random.org) choose a number for the winner and then everyone will send their ATC to the member whose number was chosen.
5. Send your ATC to the winner by the end of the month.

The first card swap was a huge success and we're ready to do it again...

I can't believe how long it has been since anyone has posted here. Hopefully that will change real soon :o) I'll start by adding a stickles organizer that my husband made for me. He is taking orders for them, so if you want one, either natural or painted, you can e-mail me HERE. Now if you can't click on the link and get it to work, then just leave a comment here and I'll get it, just make sure to leave me your e-mail address :o)

Well here it is...this one holds 52 bottles of Stickles :o) I wanted to show it to you empty.

It's a new year and the Scrapbooking Friends Club have decided to celebrate the new year with new forms of inspiration; monthly scrapbook challenges and card swaps!

Here is the information on our first card swap.

My Latest Project

I made this for my boyfriend to hang in his new house.
The middle of the "D" will hold a picture of his daughter.
I used a MM decor Letter and basic grey papers.
and a poem I found on the Internet.
A picture of his daughter now is in the middle of the "D" I just have to remeber to take my camera to add the final picture.

1. I still love watching Beverly Hills 90210 and I'm excited about the new 90210 series.
2. My first stamps were random ones from Michaels & JoAnn's.
3. I loved taking pictures even before I became a scrapbooker.
4. I am addicted to reading blogs.
5. Danielle Steel is my favorite author.
6. I am afraid of heights.

Stationary Box

I made this stationary box and cards as a birthday present for my grandmother.
Jackie Topa came up with the original pattern for the box and it can be found on her blog.

I changed it up a little bit by using chipboard covered in patterned paper. I felt like the cardstock would be a little flimsy and over time it wouldn't hold up as well as something heavier. I also added Velcro to the rear so that the box would stay closed better.

If you use chipboard instead of plain cardstock to make the box, I would suggest using some heavy duty adhesive (like Modge Podge) when applying the patterned paper and scoring the chipboard several times so that it bends easily.

The project instructions also show how to make an address book but given that my grandmother is 82 years old, I felt like something that small wouldn't be useful, so I left it out.

Well now, it seems that my wonderful friend Di has tagged me :o) So here goes...

7 Random facts about me:
1. I had my picture in the newspaper when I was little because my dog tried to save my new born bunny rabbits by letting them nurse on her when the mama bunny rejected them.
2. I still love music from the 70's and 80's.
3. I LOVE calling West Virginia home.
4. I am starting EMT classes next week.
5. I wish I had a housekeeper.
6. Not only am I a scrapbooker but also a collector scrapbooking supplies.
7. This is my motto: Live for today, for you know not what tomorrow brings.... But I love Di's Motto and wish I would of thought of it :o) "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safety in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, mocha latte in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “WOO HOO, what a ride!”

So here are the rules:

1. I change my hair color with the seasons; blonde in spring & summer and auburn in fall and winter. Thank you Kara!
2. From Kindergarten to senior year, I was described as "creative" on every report card.
3. My niece & nephew call me "Unkie Di". My BIL started it as a joke, it stuck!
4. My parents see and touch every single card and altered item I make.

This is a 2008 album from Kaiser. It is a wooden board book and was really nice to work with. I did a variety of techniques using glimmer mist, stickles, alcohol inks, grungeboard, trancparencies, flocking, acrylic and some other things. Please let me know whatyou think!!
